Jorge Luis Velosa Ruiz was born in Ráquira Boyacá in 1947,
son of Ema and Jorge, is the youngest of six brothers of whom he is the only

He studied veterinary and music. He has more than a hundred couplets
and poems - for singing and reciting - and 20 recordings that are part of the
national folklore. He is responsible that the carranga would turn the world
around. He has two iconic characters in the history of Colombian television: Florentino Bautista (Don Chinche) and Trino Epaminondas Tuta (Romeo and Buseta).
He is the author La Cucharita and Julia, Julia, Julia. He inspired the
name of two endemic frogs: the Eleutherodactylus
Jorgevelosai and the Eleutherodactylus
carranguerorum.
He is an ordinary man, humble, dreamy, with the strong
